TPGP Review of COVERGIRL Clump Crusher Mascara

COVERGIRL Clump Crusher by Lashblast Water Resistant Mascara– $6-$9

It’s funny how different one mascara can be from a different mascara. And it’s great when you find you’re very own, favorite, tried and true mascara. I currently don’t have one of those, since I’ve just been making my way through several mascaras sent to me by sample services such as BirchBox and DermStore.

But I finally found myself at the point of actually needing to purchase a tube of mascara. Sephora, Ulta, and all department stores are on the “busy side of town” where I live, which takes time to get to, so I opted for a drugstore brand. We all know how confusing this can be if we don’t have a particular brand or product in mind, strolling past all the different makeup brands, trying to figure out what makes one mascara different from another.

I came across Covergirl’s Clump Crusher, liked the name (I will crush you clumps!) and the look of the applicator brush. I went with the water resistant option just for the heck of it. (And here’s a note on this; I’ve seen lots of reviews that say it is not water resistant, but water resistant DOES NOT mean water-proof. A little bit of moisture is ok, but it’s not going to stay on if you’re swimming, or sweating bullets in a marathon.)

So it was funny, the very first time I used this mascara, what appeared on my lashes? CLUMPS! Just a couple small ones though, and the brush quickly made work of them. But with a name like Clump Crusher, I was expecting no clumps, at all, whatsoever. Like I said though, the brush made short work of them.

As you can see in the picture above, the mascara adds a lot of length. It doesn’t really add thickness, or fullness, but for a daytime mascara I’m just fine with that.

I paid around eight dollars for my tube of Clump Crusher, and I don’t feel like I wasted my money. I’ve definitely not found my end all, be all mascara, but I’ll gladly work through this tube and be happy with the results.

I found the clump crusher a few months ago and have been very satisfied with it and plan to continue using it. I am on my second tube. I like the applicator brush and the way it gets into the corners and seperates my lashes.
