Easier Cooking – With An Immersion Blender

A few years back I got it in my head that I needed an immersion blender, and therefore requested it as a gift from my husband. He often shies away from buying me kitchen gadgets as presents. Not romantic enough for him. But I love me a good kitchen gadget, and he granted my wish.

I can’t sing the praises of the immersion blender enough. And I don’t even use it that often! But when I do, I sure am glad I have it.

One of our favorite kitchen gadgets on

Dressings, sauces, soups… this gadget makes it so easy to blend things up without having to transfer to a blender or food processor.

  • Emulsify dressings quickly
  • Blend together a creamy dip
  • Blend puddings and creamy desserts
  • Make super smooth mashed pototoes
  • Make a quick salsa
  • One of the best uses for it, blend soups (including cold ones, like gazpacho) quickly and efficiently

This is an invaluable tool for any cook’s kitchen. Inexpensive and effective, I highly recommend it!

Emulsion Blender up close on

Here’s one of my favorite recipes to bust out my immersion blender for; delicious vegan refried beans. I don’t know how I stumbled across this little gem of a recipe, but everyone that has tried it loves it. If yo don’t have an immersion blender you can still make them. You just have to hand mash them with a pototo masher, which is how I used to do it before I had my immersion blender.

What tools in your kitchen could you not live without?
