I had a realization about 3 weeks ago. I have no spring ready jackets. Winter coats? Check. Heavy, medium, and lightweight cardigans? Check. But I don’t have a good springtime jacket. You know, not too warm, but blocks the wind out enough that you’re not freezing? So I’m shopping, and you’re coming along with me. Here are my top finds so far for affordable spring jackets…
This jacket looks to be made out of material closer to a sweatshirt, which means super comfy. The double breasted, cropped cut is stylish. On sale at Lands’ End.
Leipzig Hoodie in Mustard – $64.99
My obsession with yellow continues, and this fun hoodie just might make it into my springtime rotation. It looks extremely comfortable, yet super stylish at the same time.
ON Drapey Twill Jacket – $39.94
Soft drapey twill will provide minimal warmth, but will layer perfectly over a light cardigan on a cooler day that might warm up.
What a fun jacket. It’s not a go-to, go with everything jacket, but I love this color. The perforations are such a great detail, and reviews say the faux suede is nice quality. This one’s in the running!
I love the herringbone pattern, unfinished edges, and use of different shades in this coat. I don’t love that it doesn’t close. You can easily pull it closed with your hands, but it won’t stay closed on it’s own. Hmm…
This does not fall into the affordable category, and I don’t usually wear red, but this jacket was enough of a looker that I wanted to include it. The look of the tweed mixed with the moto style is so very fashionable. If you love red, get it! I just want someone to buy this coat so I can live vicariously through them.
If you have a petite torso (my hand is raised!) a cropped trench will probably work well on you.
Now here is a casual go-to jacket for cooler spring weather. The shell is cotton, while the lining is polyester fleece. This military green is super versatile too.
For me this would be stain magnet. Mmmm, chips and salsa… sh*t! But wouldn’t it look great on a day you’re feeling preppy? On sale at Nordy’s, ships and returns free.
Last pick, this linen jacket. More appropriate for warmer spring days, since lines stand out in keeping things cool. This is a great jacket for wearing to an outdoor event to keep your shoulders and arms covered once they’ve seen enough sun.
If you have any cute jacket picks to share, throw em’ in the comments!
