A Review of the Tatcha Skincare System

Guest author Amber, TPGP reader and contributor, is always on the lookout for superior products for her sensitive skin.

I’m in love. You all know what I’m talking about; that deep, satisfying, content to the core kind of love. Everything is right with the world, the sun is shining a little brighter, and I’m smiling at everyone I see. Why, you ask? Because I found The One. The One that we all dream of – that makes me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world – pampered, taken care of and incredibly happy. This One I’m talking about is the TATCHA skin care system. Ahhhh, even just typing that I want to take a deep breath of satisfaction. And, maybe now with my incredible skin, I’ll be able to catch the male version!

TATCHA is a luxury skin care line developed from the age old traditions of the Geisha. Founder Victoria Tsai has spent many years perfecting the daily regimen of the geisha, which she found written down in a 200 year old manuscript. Now, thanks to TACHA, us lay women have access to the products and serums that give the geisha their beautiful and enviable skin.

The beauty regimen is based around a four-step cleansing and moisturizing process, along with blotting papers to use throughout the day.

Tatcha Oil CleanserStep 1: Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil

I LOVE this cleanser. It easily removes makeup, including mascara! It feels SO luxurious on the skin, almost like a spa treatment.

Step 2: Polished Rice Enzyme Powder

My skin feels incredibly polished and smooth after using this powder.

Step 3: Radiant Deep Brightening Serum

I haven’t been using the serum long enough to see the age spot lightening benefits, however, I love the light moisturizing and balancing effects of the serum.

Step 4: Supple Moisture Rich Silk Cream or Ageless Enriching Renewal Cream

Both of these moisturizers are anti-age creams, which provide long lasting moisture. My skin feels moisturized, plump and balanced after using this moisturizer. I have combination skin, and this product easily balanced out the dry and oily areas, without leaving any sort of thick or oily residue that other moisturizers leave.
As I said earlier, I LOVE this system. Absolutely.

Tatcha Travel SetI have been known to go to bed, often, with my makeup on. I know, it’s a horrible thing. However, now I can’t wait to spend some time in the bathroom each evening, taking off my makeup. With the TATCHA line, I feel like I’m pampering myself every time I use it. My skin feels balanced, plump, firm and moisturized. I still have some discoloration, so I use a BB cream in the morning to even out the skin tone, but, I believe that with the continued use of the TATCHA line, there might come a day when I wouldn’t feel the need to use even such light coverage.

Now, with how luxurious this line is, one might expect to spend a pretty penny for the products, and, you’d be right ($395 for the whole set). With that said, though, the TATCHA products are among the more “reasonable” of luxury lines, and TATCHA is constantly offering specialty codes and free samples. Their full sized cleansing oil is sold out right now, so I went ahead and bought myself the travel kit; with the use of two shopping codes, I was able to get a second travel size cleanser and a whole box of enzyme powders, for free! They also ship for free in the U.S.

The products came beautifully packaged, and included a hand written note from TATCHA, along with a 15% off shopping code to use on my next purchase.

I would highly recommend that you try this line. The travel kit is reasonably priced right now at $49, and with the concentration of the products, it will easily last you 2-3 weeks with use twice a day – longer, if you only use it once a day. The travel kit also includes the Aburatorigami blotting papers, which I have yet to use, but are a favorite according to many reviews.

Here’s to you finding a skin care line that makes you feel beautiful!

Here are some of the stackable codes that can be used for discounts and free products: PAPERGIFT will get you a 30 sheet packet of blotting papers.  RENEWEYE will take 15% off your purchase second purchase (but I’d try it on your first).  On purchases of $30 or more get a free Rice Enzyme Powder Travel Set with codes SPRINGGENTLE (sensitive), SPRINGCLASSIC (normal/combo), or SPRINGDEEP (0ily).  Use code TRAVELOIL for a free travels sized oil cleanser.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long the ritual set would last. $400 is a lot of money. Does this last more than 2 months? Thanks!

Susan, I asked my friend who wrote this post, and she has the feeling that the full size products would last you a few months. She purchased the travel sizes, and with daily use they lasted her about 2 weeks. She also recommends purchasing the travel sizes first, if they have them in the products you are looking to try, to make sure you like them.

If you do end up purchasing the ritual set, we’d love to hear what you think about it!

$400 several times a year is a lot of money x 3 or 4. It would have to make me look 20 : )

Thanks, I agree! There has to be something out there equally good that doesn’t break the bank. Many magazines recommend the Olay Regenerist line.
